About Nakshatra

Nakshatra is the Sanskrit word for a constellation — the star clusters sailors once used to navigate trade routes across the Indian Ocean. We chose the name because that is exactly what we do: connect points. A paddy farmer in Andhra, a spinning mill in Tamil Nadu, a wholesale stall in Al Aweer, a distributor in Colombo.

We are an Indian export house trading two families of goods: agricultural produce — rice, spices, pulses, fresh vegetables, seeds and animal feed — and textiles, from raw jute and cotton yarn to finished made-ups. Buyers work with one desk that handles sourcing, quality, packing, customs documentation and freight.

India grows and mills more than its markets can absorb, while the Gulf imports over 80% of its food. Our job is to move goods across that gap reliably — every week, container after container.

Where we trade

  • Al Aweer Market Dubai, UAE

The Gulf's largest wholesale market for fresh produce and staples.

  • Pettah Market Colombo, Sri Lanka

The island's trading hub for Indian onions, rice and dry goods.

  • Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam

South-East Asia's gateway for rice trading and vegetables.
